HOW TO FEEL CONFIDENT PRICING YOUR SERVICES AS A SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
In this series, I'm sharing with you my A-Z guide of pricing tips to help you price your services with confidence and feel more confident charging what you need to support yourself. Let’s kick things off with letters A-C:
A is for Acceptance
In order to price your services with confidence, you need to accept these two important things:
1: To run a successful business, you need to take money from people on a regular basis in exchange for the services that you're providing.
2: You deserve to be paid for your services.
When you launch a business, you get excited about what you'll be offering, who you'll be helping and the idea of generating a consistent income that allows you more freedom on our own terms.
But one of the biggest, most unexpected hurdles you come up against is actually asking for that sale.
You feel uncomfortable asking for money, you're scared of rejection and you worry that people are going to judge you for the prices that you're going to charge.
If you truly want to run a successful and profitable business as a social media manager, you need to accept that talking about money is just part of the job.
Remember: It's okay to ask for what you deserve and what you need in exchange for the services you are delivering.
B is for Belief
To feel confident in what you're charging, you need to believe in three main things:
1: What you offer
2: The results you get
3: Yourself
You need to believe that what you’re offering is going to be a game changer for your clients, you need to believe that you are going to deliver the best service out there and that your clients are going to love the service that you're providing to them.
And it's your responsibility to work on making that a true belief.
If you don't believe it right now, because you've got some doubt there or there's some imposter syndrome, you need to put in the effort daily to believe in your services. And in yourself.
You also need to believe in the results that you can get because you don't want to start signing clients if you don't believe you can get results for them.
That's not good for you. And it's definitely not good for the clients that you are attracting.
And of course you need to believe in yourself.
Because if you don't believe in yourself, how can you expect anybody else to believe in you?
How can you expect your clients to believe in you and to trust you with their socials?
So get to work on building that self belief.
C is for Confidence
When you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and undervalued, it's really easy for your confidence levels to dip, which is why it's so important for you to work on building up that confidence every single day.
Some days, it might take you five minutes, just repeating some affirmations. Other days, you might need a two hour journaling session if you’ve found yourself stuck in doubt, comparison + imposter syndrome.
Feeling confident is your responsibility, nobody else's.
The more confident you feel in yourself, the easier it's going to be to charge what you need for your services, because you’ll know and you’ll believe and you’ll trust that you are good enough and worthy of being paid that amount.
Confidence also comes from taking action.
So rather than waiting around to feel more confident to be able to charge a certain amount, you need to take action now and start saying that higher price that you want to charge out loud during your sales conversations.
You need to be giving people the opportunity to pay you higher prices.
When you get the first yes at that new higher price, you're gonna feel so much more confident in yourself.
So confidence comes from taking action AND from working on your mindset daily with exercises like journaling, repeating affirmations, meditation, visualisation, EFT, whatever works for you.
