4 THINGS YOU NEED TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS
Goal setting has always been something I’m good at. I can set goals for days but the problem I always had was being able to put a big fat tick next to them.
For a long time, I couldn’t work out why I was failing so much and when I sat down to review my 2018 goals and realised I hadn’t achieved ANY of them, I knew I needed to work out where I was going wrong.
Clarity
When I looked at my goals, I noticed they were all pretty random. They didn’t support my big dream, they weren’t aligned to my business - it was almost as if I’d plucked an idea out of thin air and gone “that sounds cool, I’ll make it a goal”.
Realising the impact this was having on my success, I spent the majority of December getting super duper clear on what I actually wanted.
I asked myself a lot of questions and journaled out the answers:
What life do I want to create for myself?
How do I want to feel everyday?
What impact do I want to have?
How much do I need to earn to support myself?
Who do I really want to work with?
What do I want to be known for?
Let’s face it, if you don’t have clarity on what you want to achieve, how can you expect to achieve anything?
Since gaining clarity on my business and the life I want to create, I’ve already started making it happen.
Strategy
As soon as you’re crystal clear on what you want your life and business to look like, you can create a powerful, rock solid strategy.
Strategy is the how bit.
How are you going to achieve what you want?
I used to hate the word strategy because I didn’t really understand what it meant so let me give you an example.
Clarity:
I want to work with a small number of clients so I have more freedom to travel/explore/read/do things that make me happy.
Goal:
I want to sign 4 dream clients every quarter
Strategy:
I’m going to create an evergreen funnel that generates new leads on autopilot.
I’m going to engage on social media for 30 minutes per day to build new relationships with dream clients.
I’m going to dedicate time to working on my mindset to reinforce my self confidence.
Doesn’t that make things so much easier?
Now that there’s a clear path mapped out, you can begin to put together a plan of action so that each week you’re moving closer and closer to your goals.
Confidence
Once the practical tasks are out the way - gaining clarity & creating a strategy - it’s time to focus on building your confidence because let me tell you, without confidence in yourself, you can create the most powerful strategy in the world and it’ll fail.
You need to believe in yourself.
You need to believe that whatever goal you set, you can achieve it.
You need to know that your dream life is there for the taking.
So how do we develop unshakeable confidence in ourselves?
We work on our mindset.
EVERYDAY.
This isn’t a “Oh I feel amazing today so don’t need to do the work” thing.
Even spending 30 minutes a day conditioning your mind for success, building up the belief in yourself and working to overcome limiting beliefs will have a positive impact on your ability to achieve your goals.
Some of my favourite mindset activities include:
Repeating positive affirmations
Listening to audiobooks or podcasts
Meditating
Remember, the more confident you are, the more likely you are to reach those goals.

Accountability
You know what you want, you know how you’re gonna get there and you’re feeling confident AF that you can do it. Now it’s time to take responsibility for your shizz.
If you don’t tick off that goal, it’s nobody else's fault but yours.
That being said, beating yourself up about it isn’t useful in any way, shape or form.
Get rid of that guilt now and instead say “I’m grateful I didn’t reach that goal because it taught me this valuable lesson: ____________________”
Hold yourself accountable to making those goals happen.
Check in with yourself each day - “Did I move closer to my goal?”
Yes - celebrate!
No - That’s ok, what do you need to do differently?
If you need an extra push, you can:
Find yourself an accountability buddy or group so you can support each other
Ask a friend or family member to check in with you once a week
Join a paid mastermind - I’m currently part of a 12 month mastermind and it’s been a game changer
Hire a 1:1 mentor or coach - Having your own personal cheerleader to support and motivate you isn’t just a game changer, it’s a life changer
Since implementing this new success formula, my goals are no longer things I just write down and stress about when they don’t happen.
My goals are what keep me on track for living my dream life and you know what? I’m ticking them off.
And it feels really bloody good.
