THE MINDSET YOU NEED TO ADOPT WHEN SIGNING CLIENTS AS A SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

In this series, I'm sharing with you my A-Z guide of pricing tips to help you price your services with confidence and feel more confident charging what you need to support yourself. Here are letters Y + Z:

Y is for You deserve clients + You need me, I don’t need you

You deserve to sign the clients that you want.

You have experience.

You know what you're doing.

You get amazing results.

You are worthy and deserving of the clients that you want.

Please remember that.

You need me, I don't need you.

Remember that Ed Sheeran song? ‘You need me man, I don’t need you’.

This was a huge mindset shift that I had when it came to signing clients. Initially I was like, “I need them! I need the clients, I need clients to be successful, I need clients to pay my bills, I need to sign a client just so that I can say I’ve made it as a social media manager!”.

But when I had the mindset shift of actually, those clients need me more than I need them, it was huge. Because there are hundreds and thousands of people looking for social media managers out there.

So if one client said that my prices were too expensive, I could easily replace them with somebody who did recognise the value of my services, who did value me and who would pay those prices.

When you step out of the idea that you have to sign that client and step into the energy of that client needs you, you relax a little bit and it takes you out of a desperate energy. It's very hard to sign clients when you’re in a desperate energy.

You want to come across as confident in yourself and in your abilities because the more confident you come across as, the more confident the client is going to be in you. If you are confident in yourself, they will have confidence in you.

Z is for Zap the mind monkeys

The biggest thing holding you back from feeling comfortable with your prices is those pesky mind monkeys or in other words, imposter syndrome.

You might be scared of judgment, of rejection and you might not feel worthy enough to increase your rates. Because of the negative narratives in your brain. From now on, you really need to take that daily action to work on zapping those monkeys and getting rid of the doubt, of the imposter syndrome.

This leads us back to where we started with working on your self belief and working on building your confidence daily so that you do believe in the prices that you're charging. So you do feel confident saying your prices out loud.

Surround yourself with confident social media managers, surround yourself with people who are charging higher prices, who do believe in themselves, who do have confidence.

You can listen to The Price with Confidence Podcast, you can read books, you can watch YouTube videos on confidence building and tackling imposter syndrome, you can read some of my blog posts - What's really important is you take this daily action to stop that doubt when it appears.

Some days you might just need five minutes to repeat some affirmations or you might just need a five minute dance around your kitchen to your favourite music.

Other days it might require you spending some more time to get you out of the doubt and to get you out of the negative headspace that you’re in.

Take that time because the more you work on your confidence, the more you work on your mindset, the easier it's going to be for you to charge what you need, for you to price your services with confidence and to go out there and sign those clients that you are worthy and deserving of.

That’s it for this A-Z of Pricing Tips Series.
